Meet Miss Tomlin
Shantelle Tomlin’s passion for teaching began early during her time at the Children’s Home in Wichita, Kansas. She always knew she wanted to work with children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. After earning dual B.A. degrees in Secondary Education and English from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she began substituting in the inner city before securing her first teaching position at Wyandotte High School in 2005.
While teaching, Miss Tomlin continued her own education, earning two additional degrees and participating in the Teacher Leader Program for the Kansas City, Missouri School District. She firmly believes that every child is destined for success and that no dream should ever be deferred. Dedicated to equipping children for lifelong learning, she actively serves her community by helping students achieve academic excellence.
